Hive Colab is inviting qualified and experienced district-based or location-based digital skills trainers to support the implementation of the Digital Skills Development Program in various districts. Successful applicants will be engaged on short-term contracts or implementation agreements and will be deployed within their assigned districts.

For over a decade, Hive Colab has worked with government institutions, development partners, and the private sector to design and deliver practical, inclusive, and impact-driven digital skills programs across Uganda.
Hive Colab has extensive experience implementing district-based and community-level training initiatives, equipping youth, women, and underserved communities with relevant digital competencies that enhance employability, productivity, and participation in the digital economy.
Through its partnership with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), Hive Colab is implementing the Digital Skills Development Program to expand access to quality digital skills training in underserved districts.

Position Overview
District-Based Digital Skills Trainer
Role Purpose
The Digital Skills Trainer will deliver hands-on digital skills training to targeted beneficiaries at the district level, supporting improved digital literacy, employability, and participation in the digital economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver in-person digital skills training sessions in assigned districts according to the approved curriculum
- Facilitate practical learning sessions covering basic to intermediate digital skills
- Support learners to effectively use digital tools, devices, and online platforms
- Track attendance, participation, and learner progress during training sessions
- Submit timely training reports and supporting documentation as required
- Work closely with the program coordination team to ensure quality delivery
- Uphold safeguarding, inclusion, and professional standards during implementation
- Support community mobilization where required in collaboration with local stakeholders
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in ICT, Education, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience: Proven experience delivering digital skills or ICT training
- Technical Skills: Strong practical knowledge of basic digital tools, including computers, smartphones, internet use, and productivity software
- Community Experience: Experience working with youth, women, or community-based groups is an added advantage
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly in English and relevant local languages
- Facilitation Skills: Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
Location and Residency Requirement
Applicants must:
- Be residents of the specified districts or
- Live close enough to commute daily to the assigned district
Important: Applicants who cannot reliably commute daily should not apply.
Duration
Engagement will be project-based and aligned to the Digital Skills Development Program implementation timeline.
