Hive Colab is seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven Investment and Partnerships Lead to drive venture funding and build a strong network of strategic partners. This role will focus on unlocking capital and growth opportunities for EdTech ventures, strengthening investor and donor relationships, and cultivating high-value partnerships to scale the program’s impact. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the investment landscape in Africa, understands early-stage venture support, and brings strong experience in relationship management, capital mobilization, and ecosystem building.Key Responsibilities
- Investor Engagement: Identify, onboard, and maintain a pipeline of relevant investors, venture funds, and financial institutions aligned with EdTech and impact investment.
- Capital Mobilization: Support EdTech ventures to become investment-ready through pitch prep, deal structuring guidance, and connections to funding opportunities.
- Partnership Development: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with government, donors, foundations, corporates, and ecosystem players.
- Deal Flow Management: Lead the creation of investor-facing materials such as deal books, investment teasers, and curated portfolios.
- Fundraising Support: Collaborate with the Executive Director and Program Director to design and execute resource mobilization strategies for program sustainability.
- Thought Leadership: Represent Hive Colab at industry forums, pitch events, and ecosystem convenings to position the accelerator as a hub for investible EdTech innovation.
- Tracking and Reporting:Monitor partnership deliverables, investor engagement metrics, and capital raised by ventures, ensuring accurate reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in venture capital, investment banking, donor relations, or enterprise development.
- Strong networks within investor and donor communities across Africa and globally
- Demonstrated ability to close partnerships or funding deals
- Deep understanding of early-stage business needs, financial modeling, and due diligence
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinker with a collaborative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
- High integrity and professionalism, with experience working in fast-paced, high-impact environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field (MBA or equivalent is an added advantage)
